It's not hard so long as you have access to a thin (1/16") punch of some type. You punch out (upwards) the rear sight retaining pin on the left side of the rear sight pivot pin thingee, and pull out the retaining pin to the right. There is a spring loaded doohicky under the sight that tensions it against the retaining pin - hold your hand over the rear sight as you take it off so's it doesn't fly away. Reassemble in reverse order.

Be aware that you can buy this very same sight anywhere else for about half of what SportsmansGuide is selling them for.

Springfield sporters usually has them, $10 3 or 4 months ago, haven't checked lately. AIM also had them for awhile at about that price, but I haven't seen them in recent months. Should be plenty of them out there for less than $40.

Replacing the flip sight is pretty straightforward. Push the cotter pin, unscrew the sight pivot pin, keep the plunger pushed in and swap out the sight. Reverse.

Do flip the micrometer sight up when you're removing the bolt. Windage is still in the front sight.

I did this same operation when I was cleaning up my No.4 Mk2 from AIM just in the last couple of months. This description is dead on.

That detent and spring... that's a good bit of pressure when you're setting your sight back in there to slide the rear sight's base pin back in. Hint: set the base pin in the hole, then mash down on the rear sight and its detent while mashing the base pin in... you'll find the hole and it'll slide right in. Now, the screwdriver slot on the base pin's head is there to turn the pin until the base pin's hole lines up with the small cotter/retaining pin's slot in the side of the receiver. Tap the cotter pin in and you're good to go.

hey thanks a lot you guys for all the info ill try it out and search for a lower price. if you come across any please let me know.

Thanks

Watch ebay, there is always 2 or 3 of them up for auction at any given time. I got one for around $17 delivered a few months ago.

It only takes about 2 mintes to change the sight. Use a punch to start the retainin pid out, and use a pair of needle nose pliers to pull it the rest of the way out.
