Personally, I think "Bubba" stamped No 4 MK 2 on it for reasons known only to Bubba.

Oh, and that is not a Pakistani refurbish job. They used an electro-pencil and used Brit nomenclature. (And, did a better job of marking things)

Agree the first sentence may be the most logical.

If the trigger is actually attached to the receiver (and the MK1 stock modified to accommodate the change) then the Mk2 marking makes some sense. Third world local mod? Not done by the Brits though.

Bottom line - no way to really know at this point.
