I'd keep it, for sure! In fact, if I saw that one for sale, I'd buy it. Quickly. And I'd shoot it. A lot.

@Old Dog Well, keep your eyes open in a week or two!

Wondering if it has the short reset also? The engraving doesn’t bother me, although I would cerakote the frame another shade and swap grips. Then shoot the crap out of it! Love my 226!The gun also has a short trigger.
Goofy? Folks have been engraving firearms for century. Looks like classic engraving to me, not goofy.Seems a little goofy for a working gun but it looks fine.

Was the short reach trigger a standard option or a added feature? The short (reach) trigger was available during the time the gun was made; the short reset trigger was not made until much later.

Holy pimpsikle, Batman!
When *Bar-B-Que* goes horribly wrong. I have to wonder what Sam Houston would say about that bit of nastiness.
Looks like the OP's answer is just a bit further down the page if you can get past the *bear-gun* without wrenching and yanking the cord outa your computer.
Otherwise, some rather nice factory customs in there.
