Is there any reason to spend the extra money for an Eotech, rather than the Bushnell Holosight?

After comparing them online, as far as I can tell they are the same thing, just branded and labeled differently. Are there differences that I'm missing?

The difference is the name and the Eotech has an aluminum guard surrounding the lens, whereas the Bushnell is plastic. I have one of the older, loooooong style Holosights and all I can say is wow. With it mounted on my Beretta CX4 9mm, I can bullseye soda cans at 100 yards and even place hits out as far as 220 yards on a man-shaped silhouette (of course, at that range I am holding about 3ft high). Buy one, now.

Depends on what you want.

After handling both, I think the Bushnell gives away something in durability. But then again, if this is a range rifle, that's not a problem, because the Bushnell is certainly not fragile. It's just that the EOTech's are almost bulletproof. YMMV.

I have an eotech on my PS90 - I bumped it hard by accident once. If I had been using the bushnell, I probably would have broken it. Even if U are not a tactical guy, accidents happen.
