I bought an American Arms Escort .380 for two hundred bucks a couple of years back and have found it to be a decent shooter and light-weight, well balanced, and well-made except for the rubber grips. They only have one screw which is located close to one edge of the grip, not providing the best stability for the grip. Because of this and poor quality in the rubber, the grips tend to crack and deteriorate over time. I read somewhere a couple of years ago that this was a common problem with this gun and sure enough, mine was starting to show cracking around the screw. I taped the grips with electrician's tape to try to slow the problem, but would like to replace them with something more durable. Does anyone know of a source for parts for these guns? I haven't found a lot of info on them except that only 1000 were made and everyone who has one seems to like it...thanks!

I had one of those briefly, a long time ago it seems. If the same pistol it was DAO and very, very thin. I rather liked mine also but didn't hold on to it.

Just noticed yours was a first post. Welcome to THR. Duh, I'm a bit slow to pick up on things sometimes.

Thanks everyone for the quick response, I'll definitely check out Numrich, and as a last resort, have some made...it's a nice little gun and in most places except the slide where it encompasses the barrel, is barely thicker than a Camel Filter cigarette...I'll dig through my pics and try to get some up today...

Here's a few pics of the .380...the hand holding the gun is my wife's, so it's not a very big hand...very concealable.

That's the take-down lever, depress it and it releases the slide from the frame...so far, I've resisted the urge remove the recoil spring to get the barrel out of the slide when cleaning because it looks like it might be a real pain to get it back in, but I'm able to clean it well enough by just holding the slide back when I swab the barrel...

Thanks everyone, Numrich is sold out of most of the parts but still has the grips...got a pair on the way, after I get them I'll have some customs made from the old set!
