My buddy is currently on rxr from the sandbox and was at a local shop in tennessee, when he came across this make of 1911 that is supposed to be the custom line that is found only at this particular shop. i have never heard of them and i was hopeing that someone would be able to help him out and eduacte me about this particular 1911. he said they were nice but expensive the "tactical model" was $2400 and he sayed that it didn't even have an ambi safety which is a big deal for him seeing as how he is a lefty. any knowledge and help would be great. thanks guys.

thanks i checked them out and i am not that impressed with the tactical model, it looks great and all but the fiber optic sights and the adjustable rear don't make sence to me on a "tactical" pistol. looks good cost way to much, and has extra things that i could definetly do with out. i would still like to hear about any experiences with em, broaden the horizons a little.

I've been to the shop a few times, it's here near Nashville. They have a very very nice indoor range (expensive), and a very good selection of guns everytime I've been by.

The in house built 1911s I've handled of theirs seem well made, and like all things custom rather pricey. They have neat glossy fliers available that covers all the various models and options.

Looks to me like they are building on Caspian frames and slides. If I'm dropping that much money on a custom 1911, I'll go with forged parts vs. cast. Also, for that kind of money you can get a handgun built by a well known company like Les Baer, Ed Brown, Wilson Combat, etc.

yep that was my thought too. or you could spend alot less on the gun and get a sa opertaor or such, i have one and love it, and spend the rest of the money on mags, ammo and holsters! that is pretty much exactly what i told him.

For a lefty (like me), I found the PT1911 Taurus a pretty good deal, it has an ambi safety and several other good features for a decent price. The Browns and Wilsons are nice, but were way above my price range.

I held an Ed Brown in my hands for the first time at the gun show a couple of weeks ago. It felt like it would cost the $2000 dollars it was selling for. I hope nobody ever offers to let me shoot a wilson, brown or baer! I might end up buying one and having my beautiful wife use it on me. Why did I ever teach her to shoot!!!!!lol

The pistols on their website look nice, though I'm not sure I'm impressed by how much that "Tactical" model looks like a deliberate Kimber Desert Warrior clone, all the way down to the cursive company logo cut into the side of the slide at the same spot Kimber puts their name.

that was my first big turn off was how very similar they were alike. almost an exact copy. and that dosen't impress me.

GunWorld mag had a write-up on one of their Govt. size weapons awhile back. Will try to find the issue.
