Ever seen "Escape From New York"?

I've seen it a few times, but I never noticed...

If you look at the police's guns, they appear to be m16A1's with the handguards removed. I guess they thought it made them look futuristic. I think they look ridiculous.

I couldn't find a good picture...

(By the way, not a bad movie. It is just really cheezy. Oh, and "Escape from L.A." is almost the same movie.)

It's been ages since I saw that movie.

As I recall, Snake Plissken's armaments included a scoped Colt Python. It's maybe a little impractical as a combat sidearm, but I found it cool nonetheless.

Escape from new york was the first DVD I ever bought!

I will need to dig that one out and watch it again!

Just watched it. Yup, M16's without the handguards. Looks dumb. I'd love to see how they shoot those things.

With the hand resting the the magwell? The president kills the duke with one in one scene.

I am actually watching the movie now, and the president shoots with right hand holding the pistol grip, left hand on the bottom of the 30 round mag. From the hip.
