I got my hands on some Everglades .223 type 4 bullets. They are 55 grains with cannelure. I’m trying to figure out what load data to follow as Everglades doesn’t provide any. I’m leaning towards following recipes 55 grain hornady fmjbt. Has anybody had any experiences good or bad using the Hornady data? Would you recommend using a different bullet as a reference for recipes?
I’m planning on using Ramshot Tac to load these.

That sounds like a reasonable place to start. I use Hornady’s data extensively. They have state of the art pressure equipment.
Start low and work up.

Buying Hornady bullet in bulk at Midsouth Shooters Supply will net you much better bullets for the same cost as Everglades.

I don’t know if anyone has said so yet, so welcome to the forum!
Come back and tell me how they work!:)

I just bought a thousand of those bullets from Everglades, which is where I buy most of my bullets. It's hard to be choosy when most places don't even have any stock and at $109/1000 they were considerably cheaper than anything I see listed at Midsouth. I haven't loaded any of them yet but can't see any difference between them and more expensive bullets. I'm just a plinker so it's no big deal if they aren't real consistent in weight. I load mine with H335 and used the Hodgdon data for a starting point.

Well maybe not just as cheap, but I can’t beat the results!:)

I’ve used Hornady and Speer before but they aren’t nearly as inexpensive as Everglades. Also Everglades is somewhat of a local/small business. If they shoot well, I’ll be buying a whole lot more. Plus I like trying new things so at the time of shortages I have options.

Johnny's reloading bench did a comparison between Bob's hornaday and the Everglades bullets. You might be interested in that video because he also discusses his load considerations.

I would use the powder manufactures load data. Then you can compare it to Hornady. Hornady always seems to be a little cautious on their loads. I have reloaded a lot of Everglades bullets but usually buy the 62gr FMJ version 2. I like a little heavier bullet. Those have always shot well for me.
