I sure never seen or heard of one until about a week and a half ago when I was looking through Bud's Gunshop's used handguns online and came across this one. As soon as I seen it, I knew I wanted it. Bud's had it listed as in excellent condition for $799. The S&W part number Bud's shows for it and is also on the factory box (when I received it this mid-week) is #150102. I did some searching on the Internet on the S&W part number and found only about four or five different people on other gun boards that posted pictures of their SW1911 (#150102) pistols during 2007 and 2008. Haven't seen anything posted on them since early 2009 and appears from what I found that S&W has discontinued them back around mid to late 2008. What few posts I have read on this pistol is the slide is polished stainless steel and the frame is steel that has been bright/polished nickel plated. The grips are called black pearl (S&W factory), which when I first saw it on Bud's I thought the grips were aftermarket added later (the other people that have posted their pistol showed the same grips). Even the two 8rd mags that came with it are polished (Novak brand, which is the mags I believe all these pistols came with from S&W). I haven't gotten a chance to shoot it yet, but man it sure is a beauty (my pics don't do it justice). Here are a couple of pics I took of it. I usually don't go for the high polished look on my firearms (most are black/blued or satin stainless steel), but this one has won my heart.:)

Well I have now! Very nice, reminds me of those brightly polished stainless steel guns Colt used to turn out a few years back. And you got it for a very good price. A job well done. Thanks for sharing and enjoy.

Nice! I really like the look of a shiny 1911, I'd say you've got a keeper there.
