Examine that 1911 bushing before you buy!

Toyota is a foreign company that's crap. It's cars suddenly accelerated killing a bunch of people. It's not American made. Get how that fits now?

Funny, the NUMMI plant in Fremont that just closed had thousands of American car workers... Horrible how Toyota is giving everyone $20-40K in severance pay whereas "American" GM just walked away from their 50% ownership without paying anyone.

When "American Made" is crap, its perfectly fine to bash it. I dont believe in blind support and forgiveness for poor work, juwst because its "American Made." What does Toyota have to do with anything?

ljnowell- You assert that it's crap based on a bushing? If this is the case I doubt there is a company that fits your standards.

I assert that it is not within spec, therefore is faulty. Being American made has absolutely nothing to do with it, until YOU brought it up.

Toyota is far from a crap company. They have had some problems but so do American car companies. Like the ford crown vics that exploded, the ford rangers that caught on fire from faulty cruise control modules, the chevy sidesaddle fuel tank trucks that burst into flames on side impacts, ford and the wheelbase issue that coupled with firestone tires, and many others to numerous to mention.

I do not see how your posting fits at all.

P.S. Being combatitive in your postings does absolutely nothing to impress or convince people, and is generally frowned upon at the High Road.

I have yet to meet a USGI pistol that couldn't stay inside 5 inches @ 25 yards if the shooter did his part...

Grouping like buckshot was an exageration:D This first group was the best group I could achieve before fitting a new bushing. This was free handed, because it grouped worse sand bagged:eek: The latter group was the first group after fitting the bushing, and I pulled the last shot overthinking it. I could not belive my eyes after 4 shots, and said to myself "I'll probably ruin the group on the 5th shot", and did! The gun never jammed before or after the bushing change, you could remove it by hand, although snug, and had .001" clearance to the barrel.

made an impulse buy on a SA .45.

sold it a month later.

Made in Brazil. Ill fitted. rough edges. MIM parts.

total piece of garbage.

I'll never impulse buy again.

learned my lesson real good

what was wrong with it? SA would've taken care of any issues. they refit a new slide & barrel to my EMP40 (which is exactly what i asked them to do) because the originals had sloppy machining. the service was great.

As a side comment my Toyota stock is up a bunch since I bought it right when it tanked due to the supposed run away accelerator problem. So thanks to those who sold it to me.

Regarding toyota being a foreign made how do you explain the Tundra being made right here in Texas? The raw quality of the Tundra's that I have rented and used in the field is why I bought the Toyota stock in the first place and why I am shopping for a 4x4 Tundra right now.

Now back to Springfield. Every company makes a mistake and puts out an error now and then. My National Match M1A had a loose rear sight that had to be fixed. They did it no questions asked and I did not pay a penny to have it shipped backed and returned. Springfield is a good company and every time I have called them and asked for help they always took care of me. That is why I like their products and own their rifles and pistols.

Please, just relax, maybe vent a bit and see what they do. I know how you feel though, Browning sold me a bad BDA that the grip medallions fell off after only 50 rounds. I was pissed just like you and so I called Browning and they sent replacements. Still irks me though but I am getting over it. In the long run I expect you to be happy with the gun so let it slide a bit.

Browning was hired to design and perfect a military sidearm - one that would be reliable under the worst of conditions. Also two of the requirements were that it could be mass produced in large quantites with a minimum of hand fitting, and be disassembled in the field without special tools.

What Browning and Colt created was a weapon. What it has now become is a big-boy toy...
Pure gold.

I had not mentioned American made until another user came in and bashed US made. So....I didn't bring it up, combatantr2 did. Hoping you read the whole post, so you'd know that! :neener:

I know other makes and models of cars have had issues. My point was not that US made is a gold standard, but instead that bashing US made makes no sense with other examples of foreign product failures.

As a side note, I test any toy my child has that was made in China. I don't do this with US made products, because we know better.

Hope I wasn't to "combatitive" for you! Tone ok now? Feelings hurt?
Please quote where I was COMBATIVE (watch out for Art's grammer!) Come on man, defend your highroad!

A large number of Toyota cars, including the Camry, Tundra, and Sienna are made in the USA. According to Edmunds, 80% of that Camry is made from US and Canada sourced parts. Too bad the "American" Gov't Motors and the others can't say the same in many cases.

Mr. Davis, I won't hjack the thread,...it's SEMANTICS! I really don't care how much is made where. The point is on another topic, namely not bashing US made through an argument that is constituted by a bushing being to blame for poor quality control.

You also quoted my previous post, but not the one that follow it making this crystal clear.

Hummph? A few days have gone by. No responses? Mr. Davis, I guess it was a drive by posting. :scrutiny:
