Frankly a lot of foreigners would like to buy U.S. gun parts like P14 barrels, etc. which are legal imports under their laws but have been foreclosed by doing so by sellers here in places like Australia and New Zealand for example. The U.S. State Dept. has interpreted the rules much more strictly than necessary because I surmise they do not like guns at all in that department aside from those protecting them in other countries I guess.
It opens the market up for overseas trade, promoting financially healthy companies. It opens a need or desire for innovation to meet overseas standards and modifications. More sales, lower pricing for production.

Does this mean we can sell firearms to civilians now? Because the US is the top small arms exporter to militaries around the globe. I was never comfortable with that imbalance.
Three of the last four guns I purchased were manufactured in the US. Trying to get spares for those is not easy, outside of the US.
Yep, I know it's my fault for living in the UK...but I have ££ I am willing to spend on US products. There might just be some companies in the US who would take that ££ if it was offered.
