Anyone have any experience with or reservations about buying a scope from Amazon. Scopes are a bit more delicate than books, although not really more delicate than computer parts and I know some people who say they have gotten computer parts in better packaging and condition from Amazon than a computer specific vendor like Newegg.

I am very close to squeezing the trigger on a Bushnell Elite 4200 Tactical and Amazon has it for $80 less than Midway or SWFA (Cameraland, Cabela's, Gander Mountain and Bass Pro don't even have it listed) The Amazon listing says sold by and shipped by Amazon as opposed to another vendor...like Cameraland

You and your rifle will probably cause more stress on the scope than shipping will. If Amazon damages it, they will have to make it right too.

Buy with confidence. Amazon are just about as credible an online vendor as it gets. Enjoy your saved money.

I've ordered quite a few different things from them over the years, and never had a single issue. I wouldn't hesitate to buy a scope from them

I've had good luck with Amazon too, as far as shipping goes. If you're shopping price, check out manventureoutpost.com

On the last scope I bought, they beat Midway and SWFA by also $100.

thanks for the suggestion. Checked and they are sold out....not exactly wild about the fact that I have to wait for an e-mail to get the price either...certainly makes comparing prices and browsing their inventory a PITA.

I bought a Nikon Buckmaster 4.5-14x40 scope from Amazon two months ago, and it arrived without a scratch and works great. I use Amazon to buy alot of things such as books and games, and I've never had a problem with them.

HOOfan1, the last time I ordered from there, it was a matter of becoming a member and waiting for an email with a link to all of the prices. Apparently they were having a problem with advertising prices that were below MAP.

manventure is a great website! The scopes are so much cheaper and there was no problem got my order quick and orderly! i would recommend checking them out!

Well, I just checked (searched for 426245T), and it shows they have 3 in stock; the email was instant, and the price was $547.58. I've had good luck with ManVenture (although it is a pain searching their site if you don't have a manufacturer's part number).

I ignored that one because the picture does not show tactical turrets, could be a problem of using the wrong picture though.

I haven't ever bought a scope from them, but I have received damaged items and they offered to cut the price or swap it for a new one. Their customer service is outstanding and you can save some pretty good money by not having to pay sales tax (depending on your location of course). I wouldn't think twice about buying anything from them.

I see that. But it is listed as the same model/part number. Picture doesn't look like a 30mm tube, either. Might give 'em a call and ask ...

Great company to deal with I order from Amazon all the time. They sent me a desk chair that was messed up in shipping and I had the replacement on my front porch the next day. Amazon is a stand up company.

ZERO reservations in doing business through Amazon. I say through Amazon because not all merchandise comes from Amazon. If there is a defect, Amazon will take care of it promptly. I typically purchase half a dozen non-book items from Amazon on a monthly basis with a whole lot of it being shooting sports related. The scope in question is sold/shipped by Amazon. I'd have even less worries.

and according to Bushnell's website, they don't even make a 6-24 50mm objective version without the target/tactical turrets.

That would save me another $72...making it $152 less than I could get it from Midway and about half the price of what Bushnell sells it for from their website.

That is a deal that would be hard to pass up....especially since a bunch of people have said they have bought from manventure.

Both Amazon and manventureoutpost are reputable retailers, though I prefer to buy optics from Scott at Liberty Optics when he stocks the item. He is extremely helpful, courteous, knowledgeable (he tests and stands behind EVERY product he sells), and has outstanding prices (including a THR.org discount...but you must call or e-mail for these prices as they are often below MSRP). I believe he sells the item you are looking at, but haven't a clue as to his stock or pricing, though I can 100% recommend giving him a call even if you choose to buy elsewhere.

:)

Going to have to buy new rings for it...Midway sells Leupold 30mm high rings for CZ 550 for over $70 (ouch) anyone know if the high rings will be enough to set the objective off of the barrel?

With a 50mm objective bell (especially one without an adjustable objective) you should be fine. BTW Midway-USA sells some Warne rings (gloss also available) for $40.99. Also, the Leupy rings that you mention sell for about $15.00USD less (w/ free shipping) at Optics Planet.

:)

Bought an Elite 4200 from Amazon that was defective....though no fault of theirs. They sent me a new one out the day I reported the problem online.

I treat amazon like I would any other e-tailer.

I know %100 what part # or model # I want so that there is no confusion, or I find that info out...or I go to a brick and mortar store to compare prices and verify model number...then buy from the e-tailer if it is significantly cheaper.

I've never had any issue with Amazon. Bought lots of Christmas goodies there when I couldn't find toys at local stores or I wanted to avoid shopping (and boycotting toys-r-us) in crowds.
