this is my first time on thr.im a cwp holder in sc.i have a m-43 firestar 9mm.its a little heavey but its acuracy still impresess me.
i bought a 10 round magazine for it,factory is 7 rounds, can anyone tell me the legality of carrying the 10 round as a backup mag :uhoh:in sc and other states?

Far as I know, no state or city has a "fewer then 10 round" magazine law, if they allow handguns at all.

The old Federal Hi-Cap mag ban in effect from 1994-2004 allowed 10-round mags, and that is what most states adopted also. But that law was allowed to expire, so there is no Federal "mag capacity" law now.

The only thing I would suggest is to throughly test your after-market mag with the ammo you intend to carry, and see if it works 100%.

Many hi-cap after-market mags don't work at all.

the mag i bought was a pro mag.ive fired 4 boxes of ammo through it at the range ,all 4 were diffrent brands and had 0 malfunctions.thanks to evry one for the info on carrying it.
one other question i have is will it damage the spring if i leave the mag loaded for long periods of time?i have also orderd a 7 round pro mag for the same weapon.

That shouldn't damage your magazine spring. Usually only rust can do that. Wipe the spring down with a good oil every so often. Nice pistol, good luck.

Your pro-mag magazine actually worked for you? I bought one for my Firestar M-45 and it was terrible. It jammed every other round and the mag physically got stuck in the gun. I had a really hard time pulling it out. The factory mag, however has been flawless.
