Hello all, this may or may not be already known, but I bought a M&P .22 pistol about 5 weeks ago, and it only came with one 12 round magazine,:( so I wanted to get some extra mags. I found some 10 round mags at one of my local gun stores, so I thought, "extra 10 rd mags better than none" and bought them. Well today I disassembled both my 12 rd & 10 rd mags to see what makes them defferent, and to find a simple plug on the bottom of the mag spring was it. I removed it, and tried it out at the range today. Well I now have three 12 round mags now, as they worked perfect.:D Just thought I'd let folks know, but if you live in a state where your limited to 10 rd mags, don't know if you would be allowed to change them. LM

If I'm not mistaken, it's illegal to modify a magazine in states that don't allow normal capacity magazines.

You must keep the restricted capacity magazines.

From his statement that "but if you live in a state where you're limited to 20rd mags..." one can infer that he lives in a free state, but was only about to find 10rd mags for some reason.

harmon rabb, your right I live in a state where magazines are not restricted to 10 rds, otherwise the pistol would only come with the 10 rd mag. too. As to why the gun store only had 10 rounders, maybe thats all he could get. LM

You wouldn't be -- just so you know. You can't build your own from parts either. :uhoh:

I was speaking about his comment " but if you live in a state where your limited to 10 rd mags, don't know if you would be allowed to change them."

With my statement.

It sucks that you can't have normal capacity magazines in some places.

Sucks even more that they have people calling normal capacity magazines high capacity magazines
