I'm eyeballing a new .357 Ruger New Vaquero, blued, with short barrel at the local gun store.
It's priced at 549 bucks, out the door after taxes and transfer fee it's $615.

Seems a bit steep to me, so I'd like some second opinions from you guys. These folks are new in town so I want to give it a shot if that seems fair.

I bought a New Vaquero .357 Mag with 5½" barrel recently. This gun was used, but low round count. It's blued/CCH.
The price was $375 in south central Pennsylvania.

My opinion from 3000 miles away is the price you quoted is way too high and you should look elsewhere.

The new Vaquero is a fine revolver. Once you find the one you want, you'll enjoy shooting it.

Paid like $420 for mine, slightly used in near-perfect condition. Blued with case-colors and 5.5" barrel. That being said, Gunjoker.com prices are $500-$600.

That is well under MSRP. I have seen them a little cheaper but not under 500 for a new one. I just picked up a .45 Vaq. Stainless 5.5 barrel for $519. New. My gun store is priced pretty good. They do sell allot of these pistols so they don't sit around long.

My brother bought one last week for 470.00 brand new in Bozeman, MT. It has the 4" barrel and adjustable sights.
