Hello all,

My brother is looking to sell me his Colt King Cobra (6" stainless) for some extra cash. $400 to be exact. He knows it's worth more but doesn't want to go through the trouble of selling it. What's the going rate for these things? I've seen it and it's in excellent shape. I come from the semi auto world so I have no idea what revolvers are worth.

I've seen them for sale online for around $700-$900 but don't know what they are actually selling for these days. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Tony

Oops. Forgot to mention that it's a .357. Did they even come in other calibers?

$400 iis a good price in today's market. Your $700 and up is typical of the current prices you find at gun shows depending upon the condition of the gun. The dealer would never pay that much for the gun of course and $400 or less would be probably what a gun shop or dealer may offer.

$400 is dirt cheap for a King Cobra in excellent shape, but for a brother-to-brother sale, it sounds about right.

I'd buy it if I were in your shoes.

I'd jump on that deal in a heartbeat if it's in good condition! My local shop awhile back had a 4" stainless KC, bare gun in great condition, for $600.

Thanks for the help guys! It looks like I'll have to do it then.

I sold him a stainless S&W J-frame .357 for $350 a few years ago after I had just bought it new. He traded it + $50 for the Colt KC (I think at Gander Mt.??) So his total cost was $400, which is why he's willing to sell it to me for that price.

Thanks again!
