Has anybody seen one of these in the wild?

It looks like my FAL is about to sell and I'm thinking of getting a "Baby Python" to replace it. It will go well with my grown up Python, and help with the primer shortage..

It's gotten pretty good reviews, but we all know how that goes.

I heard from an insider that the production was on hold for an engineering change to improve ignition reliability. That's why they trickled out last fall in the onesies and twosies and then vanished. Production just started up again like a month and a half ago is what I heard. I'm eager to see one. Hope it doesn't have the same issues with the sight pins walking around that my Python does.

The new King Cobra frame looks a little strange and disproportional to me, but I cant argue with the fit and finish.
I wish they had made the .22 on the actual, full-size Python frame, but I still might be lured by the rimfire King Cobra- if I ever actually see one, that is.

Same. If the fit and finish matches my other CZ/colt guns it would be a mile ahead of my 617 and gp100 just based on looks. And since both went back for 75-80% ignition (and its not uncommon from what I've read) it may be better on more fronts. Lol.

Both my Ruger and Smith came back working flawlessly and I don't recall a single dud in either since. Just for full disclosure

I briefly had a rimfire GP on layaway but read too many reports of QC problems so got a vintage .22 SP instead. No ignition issues with that one, but unimpressive accuracy for sure.
I really want a Single Six (7?) Hunter Model, but have never seen one in the flesh and they are now sadly discontinued. ☹️
Still, the new Colt is a worthy entry into this space. Hope it does well enough to justify CZ keeping it in the lineup.

Once returned my 617 and gp have been excellent guns. Accuracy is no better than a much cheaper 22/45 or victory/21a or buckmark or anything else though. Nothing to write home about. Lol. And the machine marks and finish is just miles behind the new anaconda or python. Not really impressive for 700-800 dollar guns. As much or more tooling chatter as any Taurus or roxio or other low end gun that ive seen.

And that's from one who owns far more smith and ruger than colt. Not a colt fan at all really. Just have a few Delta and gold cup and a couple AR from colt.

I am really excited for this. I could use a .22 revolver, and if they manage to make the trigger as nice as my Python (probably not given the smaller frame size and the fact that it's a rimfire, but one can hope) and the sights will hold tight, the polished stainless is just gorgeous.

Since it has been over a year since they were “announced” and I have yet to see a single one available for sale on a shelf or ONLINE, I question whether they will EVER be available. (Maybe after that new primer factory in Texas starts producing primers?) 🙄

It looks like some places have them.. although a bit high:

Originally MSRP was supposed to be $999. At that price, I planned to grab one. Still might, but will have to actually handle one first, which may never happen, given the track record to date.
It looks like I'm just going to have to assume some risk as I've yet to see one on a shelf. Friend of mine's daughter works for a local gun shop and they quoted me a couple dollars less than the original MSRP. The big question is can they get one..

I've got one bid on my FAL now, with 4 days remaining, and an offer for my remain FAL mags, so it looks like it's gone.

I'm probably going to have to wait on one if there was an MSRP bump, which is not the end of the world, because I'd also like to see if the sight durability problems with the Python where the pins would walk out easily are also an issue with the adjustable-sight King Cobras. If so then I'll have to wait and see if the Wilson Combat Python sights are usable on the King Cobra as well, which would be irritating since that's another $150 on top of the MSRP increase if I need to do that.
