Found this local to me and won't have to pay tax, background.

This is the ad:
"Brand new unfired Ruger LCP. Included is one box of target loads, 2 clips with extenders added, ankle holster box, case and all paperwork. 425.00."

I don't really have need for the ankle holster. Doubt either of us would carry it that way so I would probably sell it.

It looks like the LCP can be ordered online for about $310 + 25 (ship) + 25 (FFL).

The extension appear to be about $10 each.
Estimating the box of ammo at about $25.
Estimating the ankle holster at about $40.

That would total to
$360
$20
$25
$40
=$450

This is the age of speaking politically and gender correct. I was in the army during the end of the war in the 70's (the Southern U.S.) At that time they always designated clips were for pistols, and magazines were the for M-16 rifle. There was no confusion then as when someone wanted a clip, you were getting a magazine loaded with .45 ACP ball for the 1911's we carried. (there were no 9MM's in the army then). If you needed a magazine, you were handed a magazine of .223 rounds for the M-16. Handing someone the wrong thing in the heat of battle would likely cost GI lives ...... Things were named specifically.

If someone refers to something that hold bullets for an autoloader as a 'clip' ...they probably are and older person who was used to hearing that terminology throughout the 50's, 60's and 70's. When I talk to a young person about going to the local gas station to buy a new tube for the TV so it would work, they look at me funny saying ..... "TV's never used tubes" .........
Life seemed simpler then ..........

a gun store actually advertised a mag as a clip?

The following statement in the OP would seem to indicate this was an ad from a private seller and not a gun shop

As to the original question are those pierce extenders or are they the factory ones that merely change the shape of the bottom. That would affect the value.

What brand of holster. Personally an ankle holster would be next to worthless to me its value upon resale would depend greatly on the brand .

LCPs come with one mag so the extra mag is worth something

this is not a generational thing IME. I here many people of all ages and walks of life call magazines clips. It has more to do with not knowing the correct terminology than age. At the end of the day everyone still knows what they are talking about though. It usually is somewhat of an indicator of how familiar the person is with guns though.

Bachman Pawn and Gun was selling them for $299 at last week's Pasadena High Caliber gun show.

I was just at the gun show here in Vegas and there were several dealers that had them for $319 with 2 mags. The shortage of these guns seems to be over. Almost every large dealer at the show had multiples of them on their tables. The pricing is showing it also.
