Hey yall, its my first post here and any help whatsoever would be appreciated.

The problem: My FAL receiver has a carry handle cut, but I don't want a carry handle.

Solution (hopefully): I have talked to some folks over at Entreprise (http://www.entreprise.com/) , and they said they are working on a "plug" that fits into the carry handle slot. However, they only have one and are trying to find some more.

Does anyone know anything about these? Has anyone here ever made one before?

You talked to my guys that tricked out my Fal Enterprise does good work and they are friendly and not gun snobs, bummer, when I was in Nicaragua the handles are everywhere, I saw one on a cab that doubled as a inside door handle, I just laughed out loud the cab driver smiled.

Some folks make a reciever without the cut for a carry handle , unfortunatly that is buying a new rifle as far as atf considers it . You can remove the handle and replace the space with a washer colored to match your reciever if you choose . Or you can leave it blank and just have an open space on the top . My fal has the handle and i dont find it offensive just folded down and pretty much forgotten .

Somebody makes a bushing that goes in the handle cut. The pre-owned Century FAL I have has one in place.

Score

FALna45 GOT IT! Thank you very much! That was exactly what I was looking for. I sent an email to the guy making them, now hopefully I can get one. I appreciate everyone's help!

Here's a dumb question: how do you remove the existing CH and how do you put the new piece in?

Remove the gas-plug and piston first, then unscrew the gas-nut (the round part that screws in directly into the front of the upper receiver. Et voila - remove the carry-handle.

South Africans and Rhodesians just cut the carry-handle with a hacksaw and bent it until it broke, leaving just the carry-handle ring in place. It covers the slot and is historically-accurate, to boot ;)

Ah, gotcha.

That's what I get for not thinking about how the FAL is layed out before asking (mine is in the safe and I'm too lazy to go get it out). I should have figured it would involve the gas nut.

Remove handgaurds.
Remove gas tube nut. Usualy you can use a bottle opener to do this. If it is really on there you will need to use a brass punch and hammer to break it loose.

Remove carry handle.
Install bushing.
Install gas tube nut.
Install handgaurds.
