Yes, these rifles are goods but... Have a BIG aperture/rear sight.

So, that's a little job: drill&tap, and make an removeable aperture (0.040") from a brass screw:

What you need (or not)

Before (Belgian FAL aperture)

After drill and tap

Cut the screw, remake an screwdriver cut, drill the aperture, chamfer both sides, that's all!

I use a USGI National Match M-16A2 hooded target aperture, threaded into a DSA windage adjustable FAL Para sight.

"USGI National Match M-16A2 hooded target aperture"

In fact, I'm very reticent to all things that have a name with more than six words.

Sorry ^^ I though I could just drill and tap and add some commercial National Match aperture or so, yes.

Homemade brass replaceable FAL rear sight aperture. :uhoh:

Opps... 7 words, and I still haven't defined aperture size. :neener:

The M16 A2 windage screw comes in 2 different threads, ~ 1/2 or ~1/4 MOA per click

I can also use USGI M16A1 or standard M16A2 flip apertures.

While The DSA Para sight does come with windage adjustments the flip apertures have only 2 elevation options.

As it is a FAL with a 18" barrel and open sights I feel I dont really need the 4, 5, or 600 yd settings, and I like the sight picture much better with the Para sight.

Hey! Interressing!

a hooded rear sight that threads into the standard FAL rear sight

I think you will have to drill-tap your rear sight before ^^ (or buy the drilled-taped rear sight too)

I shoot 5MOA last WE whit my FAL brass aperture - elbows-sling position, youhou! :D

OK, still have some progession...

Yes, the FAL rear sight hole needs to be tapped, he is selling them as a set with the tapped rear sight, 2 hooded apertures, and a wrench to change them.
I was differentiating between the standard and Para rear sight.

Get rid of the sling, they are NOT conducive to precision on a FAL.
Same goes for the bi-pod.

I have found they shoot best sandbag prone
