I think CAI makes their own receivers now but the earlier ones were Imbel imported by them. they also used a company named Hesse Arms to make some of theirs for them. If yours is an Imbel then it is one of the best out there and it should be fixable. AZEK will be able to fix it for you, I'm sure. That's in Phoenix, right? I think you will like the FAL after you get it running right. They are one of the world's great battle rifles.

1) A-hole gunsmith. Never paid for a lack-of-repair from one before

2) Send it to Century! They will get it at least running for the cost of shipping only. That said (from here ):

3. All Semi-Automatics (ie. L1A1's, SAR's, Dragunov's, WASR-10's) have a 90 day repair/replacement period from the day the product was sold to the dealer and have 30 days for refund. If the merchandise is returned to our warehouse in “as advertised†condition, the customer will be charged a 10% restocking fee and will not be reimbursed for the shipping charges.

7. All returned merchandise must be sent to the addresses given to you when obtaining an RA# by calling 1-800-527-1252. Merchandise will be refused if shipped without an RA# on the package or shipped to our Florida address. The customer will not be reimbursed for these shipping charges.


So they might look up their ship date and be weiners about it. However, I have heard of good service, so they might well just fix it up anyway. Tell them you complained a lot on this board. Might get you some "please stop publicly complaining" service at least.

Yea Azek is in Phoenix and i plan on taking it there. This was a used rifle so the warranty isn't an option. I have a feeling its several years old.

My opinion would be to ditch it first chance you get and by a DS Arms gun. Spend the extra $500 bucks that you're going to spend in frustration, gunsmithing, and extra parts anyhow. I got mine to work, but had problems with the trigger, the receiver cover, the gas tube, and the front sight in addition to frustration adjusting the gas system. It's now smooth, reliable, and accurate.
