I don't want to hijack the "FAL Disappointment" thread, as it has already been hijacked by a .308 versus 7.62 x 51 debate, so...
While I'm waiting for my new DSA SA58 type II metric receiver to come in, I need to think about the rest of the rifle. What parts should be bought new versus using "parts kit" pieces? How much of an imported parts kit do you have to replace anyway to be 922(r) compliant? Is it better to cherry pick parts from a couple sources or to go with new assemblies from places like DSA or gunguyparts.com? Besides the stock and grip, are there any other parts that are worth considering aftermarket over the "originals"?
