Howdy, all
My dad just called me on the horn to tell me that he'd been chatting with his friend, and said friend showed him what is supposed to be his great grandpa's 1911, below is the description he gave me, and I was wondering what info y'all could give me about it. Forgive me if I've posted this in the wrong forum.

Left side of slide: "Patented April 20, 1897", "September 9, 1902" "December 19, 1905" "Feb 14 1911" (just above the slide release:) "Colt PT.FA.A Mfg. CO." "Hartford Connecticut, USA"

Frame in front of trigger guard: "United States Property"
Right above mag release: circular stamp of some sort

Grip panels are wood
Left side on slide in front of trigger guard, just below and forward of ejection port: "Model of 1911 US Army"

Frame above trigger guard: "No. 446xx"

Top of the barrel: "Colt .45 Auto"

It also has with it a leather holster: Brass riveting, brass button on the big flap, GI belt hangars, marked only US in an oval on the flap; the leather is brown.

The finish is blued
Barrel is black
Excellent shape

Thanks in advance.

Manufactured 1914.
If matching parts in original blue finish and truly NRA Excellent condition, value in the thousands. If arsenal refurbished, dollar value much less but climbing fast for un-Bubbaed military issue.
Expert DSK posts here some, more in USGI on 1911forum.com and can tell you what to look for to authenticate it.
