I would like to get my dad something gun related for Fathers Day. He has enough ammo already, and I can not afford to get him another gun. We shoot for free outdoors in the country so range time is not needed.

Anyone have any original ideas? He is mostly into handguns and likes 1911s and Browning HPs.

1911's and BHP's?

1. Grips
2. Sights
3. Magazines.
4. Holsters/Gun Belts.

Father's Day

As an old man my thoughts may help. You did not give any ideas on price range so I will make several suggestions that are "under gun price." I would like any. If he reads renew his subscription to his favorite Mag or get a one yr Sub. to one he would enjoy. If he is like me I get 2 & still get through before the next one arrives. Upgrade his holster if that is not too much. If so a carry gun belt from one of the holster makers. He will think that very creative & be prowd of it. ;) Mag carriers for extras if he carries them. Case for any naked guns. Soft or hard. Grips. At this late date anything ordered will not be here before Sunday. Don't worry about that. As a Dad I would be excited about the creativity of your thinking w/ the order slip or picture in an envelope. I have received a picture before. If you need any websites I have many to share & will be glad to help. good job young man. Use my personal email if you need. [email protected] They that love liberty more than life die only once. Targets.
Target stand.
Ammo.
Gun belt. Holster.
Cleaning supplies. Bore snake. Hoppes. RemOil. GunScrubber.
Extra shooting glasses or hearing protection.
Lots of good books out there on the 1911.
Custom grips.
Gun case or rug.
Mags.

Just a few that come to mind.

Good Idea John.

Good idea John. It is worth repeating. They that love liberty more than life die only once. They that fear death more than oppression die every time they close their eyes. Me.

my friend roped me into doing this for his dad a few years ago:

he had a buddy who had some land and had me come over and let them shoot my machine guns. somehow i think i also provided most of the ammo.

somehow i got screwed....... :what:

My dad will be receiving some new grips for his S&W 586. I've been planning on getting these for fathers' day for a couple months now. If he likes them, he's also got a birthday coming up next month and his 686 could use some new grips as well. I do like the gun belt/holster idea though. His carry setup is kinda sad, yet still effective.
