What is your favorite Standard Production 1911 Manufacturer (Less than $1500).
Colt
Kimber
Springfield
Smith & Wesson
Auto Ordinance
Other

Les baer
Wilson Combat

Would love to try Nighthawk, Rock River Arms and Springfield custom shop guns as well.

While I LOVE my Les Baer TRS, I believe you stated "out of the box" for less
than $1500 correct? :scrutiny:

Then I would have to give the nod to the standard 5" stainless steel Smith
& Wesson 1911 (product code #108282*); as it will run right along side of the
much more expensive Baer. Lock-up is good and tight, and the fit N' finish is
excellent~! :cool::D

*FootNote: Sells for 'bout $769.95 at most shops. :)

"If it isn't a Colt, it's just a copy!"

Yeah, that's my feeling as well. My only real 1911 experience is with a Series 70 blue steel Colt, and I don't see how it could get any better. Besides, it's a piece of history. No one ever did wrong buying a Colt.

Ed Brown, he is first on my list to call when I get my firearms permit (yes, we have those over here).

The thought of a Nighthawk or a Wilson is intriguing but I'd like a blued finish rather than all these 'tacticool' poly coats.

For under 1500.. Uh. Haven't really thought of that. I guess a Series 70 Colt. Then it'd be off to the shop for some specialties. ;)

I have two Wilsons and have seen used Wilsons for around $1500. They are my favorites after trying most of the others out there.

I have been extremely happy with my Colts. I am sure there will be the posters that tell me that they are substandard POS's but I like them and I am happy with them.

My favorite? Colt.

I'm not saying others aren't good, or that Colt is necessarily the best, but it is my favorite.

I'm happy with my Colt series 70'
I bought it because it was a colt. For shooting I prefer CZ-75 style guns.

1911 style are not very common here in Switzerland. SIG P210 is more popular.

Original WW I Colt 1911 or 1911A1 from WW II or any good older series 70 model.

I clicked other, because my favorite is the Taurus PT1911. It seems like everyone but me hates Taurus passionately, but I have always had good experiences with their guns in general and with the PT1911 in particular.

Dan Wesson CBOB 45acp. I have never had a pistol feel this good in my hands, Regards, Richard:D
