A home-cast SWC in the 153-160 gr. range (Depending on which mold I use), lubed with TAC-1, loaded over 6.0 grs. of Unique for 1020 fps. Outstanding accuracy out of my butt-ugly Uberti Hombre.

5.5 grs. works well too, just a bit slower-

35 Whelen, butt ugly? Naw, have a Uberti/Taylor's "Old Randall" in .45 Colt. Looks just like your Hombre and mighty accurate. Great revolvers.

158 Gr. SWC over 5.5 gr Unique is my go-to load for most .357 target or plinking applications. Mild report, accurate and kind to both shooter and gun.

Stay safe.

Thanks for all the feedback folks, appreciate it.
Tried some of those coated bullets once, forget whose I bought, worked great and I was happy with them but when I tried some at an indoor range they smelt like burning electrical wires. :uhoh:
Unique has always been one of my favorites but when I ran out during the Obuma shortage I started using my shotgun powder, Universal. Found out that not only does it meter better it provides the same performance with slightly less powder.
