I voted AR-15, but in reality, my favorite is an M4 carbine, s/n W016312. She was my girlfriend for quite a few years and traveled around the world with me, literally. I lovingly carried her in both Kosovo and Afghanistan. I'll never love another as much as I love her; even if she did go to combat in Iraq, nestled in the hands of another man.

I voted "other" since I see no bolt-actions in the poll.
How about an LTR or similar?
While autos are popular, they're not always 'favorites'.:)

AK-47:evil:

I'm really starting to like my converted MAK-90. Accurate enough, and can put rounds down range pronto.

Ruger M77 mkII ultralight. Light, compact and accurate, perfect for calling moondoggies or a little range work. The AR15 A4 20" ss varmint weighs 9.5 lbs, so is mostly used on prairie dogs or extended target shooting.

This thread does not require prior experience, as you may well know, some of these rifles are not available in the US.

I'd love to get my hands on a Sig 550/551/552 though, so I voted for that one. Of the world's military rifles, that is my favorite.

HK33. I shot one at Knob Creek a couple of years ago and fell in love with it.

Favorite that I own is my Colt Sporter 16" HBAR.

Min,

So, you don't mean "favorite" as in "how does it handle and shoot", you mean "favorite" as in "coolest looking". ;) That's cool.

Okay, I change my vote to the Augie doggie, then.

I'd be interested to hear from the folks who shot the FAMAS ...

You mean the latest "surrender rifle?"

BTW, since the cowardly bombings in Madrid, the French terrorism threat color code has been elevated from yellow to orange. The next higher level, according to one pundit is "surrender." :D

What are we talking about, Hot Wheels cars? :scrutiny: I've actually shot a Valmet .223, which is a lot cooler than many on the list but it is a long way from a Colt in terms of a good shootin' arn.

So the highest threat in France in color coded white ????:p :p :p I like that!

Guys don't dog the French . Right now more so than ever. Maybe this will be a wake up call , and they will see that we are realy all brothers in arms against the scourge of terror . Besideds we as Americans owe our very existance to France.

I've fired the Colts (M16A1 and Sporter HBAR), a Valmet M76, and a Steyr AUG. I voted AUG, but never bought it because the price was inflated for plastic fantastic BEFORE the ban, and I was still in college.:fire: on Bush Sr. :fire: on Executive Orders :fire:

The AUG still needs a real backup sight (MMC on the handle?), and a cutout in the bottom of the donut reticle to make holdover more accurate at longer ranges. I'd also give it between 2 and 4 more inches of barrel, 'cause it's so short already. Modify it for AR mags and use steel ones, and you've got a fine fa'arm!
