What is your favorite online auction site?

Right now I would say Auction Arms. Opinions about all follow ...

Auction Arms seems to have the best prices. Search function is OK.

Guns Broker seems to have the most listings and highest prices. Search function can be awkward.

Guns America has the best search function. Good prices. But seems more to be a site to BIN or find sellers.

Ebang is promising, but it returns too many closed listings from Guns America.

Most good "below market price" deals I have found were on Auction Arms and Guns America.

Am I missing any?

Well I do a lot of scanning the various forums and I find good deals there from time to time. If I'm looking for a specific model of gun, and I want it now, I use GB.

Gun Broker is always where I start my search, and where I make most of my purchases. I like it for the hyper-detailed search function because I seem to always need some wierd obscure stuff.

Folks should just be aware that the rating system used is HEAVILY weighted to the regular commercial sellers, and that an A+ rating is next to worthless in determining who you are dealing with. Someone can have an A+ with 5-7 bad reviews out of 100. NO WAY am I buying from someone that screws 7 out of every hundred customers, even though they wear that A+ rating. Worse yet, they can harm your ability to do business by retaliating with a bad review of you for simply telling the truth about them.

The worst transaction I have ever had was with an A+ seller. READ THE ACTUAL COMMENTS IN THE RATING SECTION before bidding. If I am buying a common product, I will generally check all of the regular sites and buy on price. If it is a pricey item, I will look for an out of state vender to avoid sales tax.

GB is the go-to site for me. The others are OK but I find that GB has a greater range of stuff. Also when looking for that certain deal, it can almost always be found there. As with any auction site you have to know your prices before hand but if you do when a deal is available go for it. Patience has always been good when dealing with these sites. If the price goes above what you want to pay---don't buy it, another auction will show up soon to bid on.:D

I don't know that I "trust" any of the sites, exactly, but I've had some good luck in the past on GunBroker. More to the point, I've found some sellers who had what I was looking for, and at reasonable prices, and who were up front and honest in completing the transaction.

GB, the rest of the sites are piddly. You have to invest 15 minutes of time to figure out how the advanced search works, then it's like 'Holy Shoot!'. I have some hand crafted searches that keep me entertained for hours.

I live in the boonies and trying to find a used firearm that I'm interested in means going on line... thanks internet. Several months ago I bought a .22 target rifle that I would never have seen otherwise. I favor AA because I have a favorite seller there. But I have purchased an equal number of guns on GB.

GB and AA in that order, although I've successfully used both to buy and sell.

For fun, check out RiverofGuns.com. It searches the classifieds in a whole bunch of different forums. Pretty cool.

I'm generally a creature of habit so, when I found GB, I just stuck with it. I've been to others but something about the interface or the way the auctions run just put me off. I'll give AA a more in-depth look.

It used to............sadly the owner doesn't seem interested in keeping it working. While the search engine still works for a few sites it doesn't touch but a handful of the ones he lists.

It doesn't search this forums listings for example. I've contacted him twice with no results.

It WAS a great resource.
