My favorite rifle is a model 70 in .243 with Leupold glass.
I bought it many years ago and hated it. It would not shoot under 8" at 100 yards. I had a smith look it over and re-bed the action and didn't do much better. I was going to trade it off when my father talked me into selling it to him. After he died, I got it back. talked to a gunsmith/dealer about selling it for me. He said to try changing the tension on the mounting screws and it turned into a beautiful, handy, little sub-MOA rifle.
It has killed a couple truckloads of antelope, deer, coyotes, and other assorted varmints.
