What type of sights do you prefer on a handgun?
Note, poll is two fold.

Do you buy new sights, or do you mostly use the sights that comes with a gun?

What type of sights, all black, white dots, tritium, fiber optic or some sort of express (XS) sights?

I have been shooting with Trijicon sights on my G34 for quite some time now, but to gain more experience with a set of XS big dot express sights I have, I was moving them onto the 34.
When I moved the front sight, I desided to have a look, and for now I have left the XS big dot front sight with the Trijicon rear sight.
This seems to me as something that has the possibility to be a very quick and accurate set up.
The big dot is very fast to pick up, even in low light, and the standard rear sight gives a "normal looking" sight picture for accurate shots.
I have still to have gaind enough experience with this set up.

The XS combination of the big dot and the shallow V was very quick at short distance, but I need to be able to make presise shots at extended distances (150-300').

I'm back on the night sight bandwagon. I'm really liking the performance from the fixed Trijicons. Before this, I like simple 3 dot fixed sights.

I still like the standard 3-dot sights of my USP, front sight of which I painted with a bright orange art paint bought from a nearby bookstore...

And I couldn't be more satisfied! :D:D:D

I like fixed tritiums. But there are many flavors of tritum dots and the ones I like the best are the green Trijicons. The Novaks are offset slightly, i.e., the dots do not line up if you line up the tops of the sights. Yuck.

I like a tall, narrow Patridge front sight and a broad, fully adjustable rear sight with a deep notch wide enough so the front sight occupies about a third of the notch's width. Can you tell I'm a bullseye shooter with aging eyes?

I'm pretty used to three-dot sights. I don't insist on them glowing, but I don't terribly mind if they do...

I like the triangle/trapazoid sights that came on my Steyr M40 ... I wish they would make them as replacement sights for other guns.

I do wish I'd have got the white dots on the Novak sights I had put on my Mak.

Richard has it figured out!

I still have the factory adjustable sights on my G17L, but plan to replace them with adjustable Mepros. That way I hope to get a) good adjustable sights for shooting matches and b) nights sights for HD.
