Federal #41 primers resolved

After several exchanges with Anoka Prodserv, which referred me to the unhelpful web pages at the Federal site, this finally arrived-

Federal packages the primers but this is a CCI product, CCI and Federal are owned by the same company.

Federal does not make a #41 primer, check with CCI\Speer.

There now, how hard was that?

Remember, "thinking" is different from "knowing", especially in handloading.
Somewhere in the parent organization, one or more managers are creating confusion, and this is not the kind of business for that.

I'm fairly sure most reloadeds knew Federal did not make those primers and CCI did. I had bono doubt that #41 primers were made by CCI. Just a note, while CCI, Speer and Federal are owned by the same company they do not mix their operations although they will support each other.

Is the "Federal" #41 actually a CCI #34, or is it something else ?

The "Federal" #41 primers are simply CCI #41 small rifle primers that are packaged by Federal. (Why? I have no idea.) CCI #34 are large rifle primers, not small rifle.

well that was dumb, huh ? I guess I dont use enough federal primers !

We had this issue a while back about federal mil spec primers, and im confusing the dickens out of not only the threads, but myself !
