Federal Arms HK Clone

So my parents are comming over here for a week to visit, and my Dad's bringing me 2 of my rifles from home. First one is my first gun I owned, which was my Ruger 10/22. I figured it would be good to get my wife started with shooting, and something a little cheaper to fire at the range. Next one is something I bought myself as a highschool graduation present: A federal arms HK-91 clone. I got it for $400 back in 2003, with 4 20 round mags (one of which the spring is messed up on, but easily replaceable).

Rather than the stamped steel receiver, it has what looks like forged/milled alloy, with a picatinny rail made into the top of it. I've fired it twice (both times putting 80-100 rounds through it), and it fires perfectly fine. My question is if anyone has any experience with these rifles, and if so, what aftermarket parts can be added? I'd like to get a different foregrip (the one it has is the older style thin plastic, which gets VERY hot after about 40 rounds).
Will the receiver get in the way? From what I can tell, alot of the parts, except for the receiver of course, are original OEM HK.

The wide HK handguard can be fitted to most any rifle of this type.
Some creativity may be required to get the fit just right.

Be careful of 922(r) issues if you are installing foreign parts to replace US parts.

Some folks really dislike the "skateboard tape" receiver. Most of the issue is
the aesthetics. Some have observed that the trunion can come loose in the
aluminum receiver, since its only pinned in place. This is true, but may not be
a major issue if the gun was assembled well in the first place.
