I was just thinking about something, and wanted to see what some others thought. I know the current government says they don't have the political support to do much to restrict guns, but the idea of them raising taxes on firearms and/or ammo doesn't seem too far fetched to me.
You see, Bama and the dems recently raised taxes on tobacco products to pay for the expansion of a so-called children's health care program, i.e., SCHIP. In the newscoverage, there really wasn't much discussion about raising taxes, only coverage about the bad people who voted against children's healthcare.
Now, I don't smoke, but I told everyone about how mad I was about this because if the Government can single out tobacco users to pay for some cause the general public beleives is righteous, then they could do that to any group, including us who buy guns and ammunition. Am I being paranoid, or is this something to think about?
