I'm working on a trade to get a Dan Wesson model 14 357 Magnum. I've read a ton of threads on model 15's but nothing specifically on the fixed-sight model 14. If anyone out there has had personal experience with one I'd like to hear about it - good, bad or ugly.

Thanks!

I bought one with a 4" barrel and found a 6" barrel a few months later.

Just for fun, I set it up this way:

japle You were really luckly to find another porkchop shroud and barrel. Those thangs just don't show up often.

It was the last one left for sale on Earth.

I once had at 6" 15 and a 2"14. The 14 shot well and was accurate. One thing to note is that you cant just put a 15 barrel on the 14 as the sights will be off and cannot be adjusted.

But the sight can be filled down to with is needed. Just a nub but it will work and I bit EWK could custom a shroud up to offer a small front sight.

It is a 2x burris pistols scope . Atleast thats whats on it.

MAD Shame on you for showing that. 357 maximum, that is the caliber right?

japle what kind of scope do you have mounted on it?

It's a Hudson Handgunner. They were very light and used adjustable mounts. They came in 1X and 1.7X. They also went out of business over 35 years ago.

I ordered three of them for me and a buddy. The guy who packed them for shipping must have been drunk or something, because he sent me 7 scopes. When I called them, they were closed, forever.

I had one mounted (custom mount) on a .357 AutoMag for hunting jackrabbits and coyotes. Here's an old pic:

14 is a great gun, I had on ein 6in and it shot like a wonder. And YES you can put on a 15 barrel and shroud, and it will shoot fine and you can file the front blade if you need to. I stuck a 2in on my 14 and it shot point of aim.
