The gun illustrated is a double action, a Smith & Wesson design faked up to look somewhat like a BHP with the tapered slide nose and butt shape. But notice the safety on the slide a la S&W and the DA trigger.
I have been told that there is a really truly Hungarian High Power .45, but the source can't furnish a picture or reference.
My brother had one in the early 90s.I would have to ask him but I am sure he paid less than $250 new.I shot it and it seemed servicable enough and I believe it used 1911 mags.
The only thing BHP about it is the layout. Like previously stated its a S&W style trigger and mechanics. Ive handled a few, but never shot one. They are reputed to be pretty good shooters....worth what most want for them ...but not for me.......
Not a BHP in any way, shape, or form. From what I've heard about 'em, it might be a good idea to give them a wide berth. Of course, if you wanted to try one and it turned out to be a good gun, I'd change my tune.
