I've got a Feinwerkbau (sp?) 65 my Dad bought me when I was a teenager. Superbly accurate and a load of fun to shoot. Problem: The gun was in a safe in a building that burned a few years ago. No direct fire damage got to the gun, but obviously the gun got hot. When I went to work the cocking lever, it stuck in the open position. My question is this: Where would I send this gun for repair? Is it possible it got so hot that it's irrepairable? Thanks.

The FWB is one of the finest air pistols ever made. I don't know if it can be repaired but I can say it is certainly worth the effort to send it to an airgunsmith to find out. I have heard very many good things about airgunwerks. Their link is below.

Smoke & fumes from a fire are very hard on guns.
Regardless of how hot they got in the safe.

The corrosion and fumes from the fire locks things up like you wouldn't believe.

Your air gun is probably reparable by an air gun specialist.

But it will take soaking in solvents to free things up, which will likely ruin the seals.
So they will all have to be replaced.

But it is doable.
Just not at home on the kitchen table.

Your seals are probably toast,and the mainspring could be compromised.

Should you wish to tackle a rebuild,James Maccari's
parts are second to none. I cannot recommend an air smith as I do my own work.
The FWB 65 is a classic match air pistol. Its worth saving.
