I'm interested to hear some of the sucessful methods that some women have found to carry a concealed weapon. Even if wearing jeans, many wear them sort of tight, so they would seem impractacle for carrying. It seems that a purse would be a natural inclination but would be suseptable to being snatched along with the weapon. A purse would also take time to open and access the weapon.

I never gave this a thought before my wife mentioned wanting to carry a concealed weapon.

I am not a fan of off body carry in most cases for either men or women.
With a slim auto IWB 4:00 carry seems to be a good option, I am getting this for my wifes 1911 officers.

When any person begins to carry, a change in how one dresses often needs to be considered. One easy change is to wear a cover garment of some sort. This can be as light or heavy as weather permits and can be as simple as being an untucked t-shirt.

The above photo is of a book which might be good to get & read. It also shows a woman with a short jacket which can cover a weapon worn around the waist area.

My wife carries her Colt 1911 .45 acp (either full size or her New Agent 3 inch) in an IWB at her right hip. Her bug is a S&W Model 60 in an old school Berns-Martin style, upside down shoulder holster. She is does not carry off body.

Wife carries on body, usually iwb 357 3 inch covered by T shirt or blouse. On the rare ocaision she has to get real dressed up a 22 magnum NAA is secreted in an accessable place

I tend to wear IWB with jeans around 4:00 and don't have any problems. Now that it's winter I occasionally carry OWB if I know I'm keeping my coat on.

I am getting a gun purse for Christmas but, due to the potential problems with off body carry, that's for situations where I don't think I can get way with IWB and where I feel confident I can keep constant control of the purse.

The best on body carry solution that we have found (thanks M.A.) to a short barrel .36 caliber revolver is the Birami Hip-Grip.

It works better, for us, with Tyler's grip adapter.

Camping, driving, going to the campground showers, hiking, etc., you'd be surprised who is carrying what, and where.

If there is a belly gun in the household, and the lady is prepared to carry, this works.

Thanks,
