Most people I know that eat wild hogs prefer to trap them. Once the hogs are trapped they can be moved to a location where the hogs can be fed out, much like a pen raised hog. A month of good corn makes the meat tasty. They also focus on young hogs that are easy to transport.

Feral Hog Meat

I prefer wild hog meat to venison. I have killed, and eaten, hogs that weighed over 200 lbs. Keep it clean, process as you would any other meat, and it is good eating.

U can get it processed however u like. Or after u gut skin and quarter it, u can debone it yourself and freeze wrap the meat if u don't have a meat processor. For larger boars I soak the meat in ice water with something acidic like vinegar or a fruit juice for a day or two. It takes the gamey taste right out of it.

also,ask who is going to prep the hog after the kill.will they do it there(outfitter),or locate somebody ahead of time who can process it for you.

where are they taking you to hunt?
