I have been out of the loop for a while. Been busy making rifles, coming up with new stuff and working my butt off as a new Board Member of the FCSA.

If you have been to my site lately, ferret50.com, you have seen the growing number of trophy winners listed on the front page. We claim top accuracy from our rifles, and the winners are proof of it. I do understand that most people want to shoot for fun and are not looking to compete. Its just not as fun if the bullets don’t go where you want them. So we make every rifle as if it were going to show up at a 1000yd match.

You guys are FCSA members, right! The FCSA is a good organization and just so happens to be on the front line of the 2nd amendment fight along with the FCI and NRA. As I type this, the elections are happening. Who knows what we will be left with in the House and Senate, and I don’t even want to think about two years from now. We all know that when the Dems have control, they will be coming for our guns. The 50 is a target and they want to stop further sales of these rifles.

If you have been keeping an eye on the Ferret50 for the past five years, you have seen that we make little changes here and there. In the pic below you can see that we have switched to a black oxide finish and improved the bipod. There are several other things that we have improved, but it’s a matter of a thousandth here or there. We still make the best monopod in the business.

I will be nudging my prices up in Jan, it’s the first increase in three years. So I wanted to touch base with you guys before I did that. I have a production run finishing and can ship you a rifle or upper before years end. As always, FCSA members, LEO and Military personal get a discount.

Safe shooting,

Well...

That's a shameless plug if ever there was. :scrutiny:

(Oleg, when did THR become a commercial venue?)

I took it as more of an update from a small businessman than an actual ad per se.

The man's updating us as to what his pro-RKBA pro-50 company is up to, I don't find that too offensive.

That sure is a fine looking rifle Dave. I must say that I greatly appreicate your practice of giving a discount to those who serve.

Gimme a break ! ....Shameless plug?

If you want a 50 you better get one now I suspect the days are numbered. I think ya oughta give the guy a break. Imagine if you wake up tomarrow and the people that hate what you do the most, have taken over the Government and may legislate you out of a livelyhood, when you have not done anything wrong !

Sweet Rifle Ferret, wish I had the cash !

Hey you are close to me, do you give tours of the shop ?

Mike

The Ferret .50 is a nice rifle. Dave let me shoot his after we were done doing a gelatin test on the .50BMG. It was as accurate as he says it is, and the recoil is not at all bad. The rifle is also available in .338 Lapua, for those with less of a shoulder and a wallet (like me!) than the average .50BMG shooter.

Nice gun, 'plug' or not, all shooters should try to support their fellow gun owners, especially those who go to the considerable trouble and risk of building and selling guns commercially.

Dave,

I have a question concerning the Ferret conversions. Is it necessary to remove the buffer and buffer spring to allow the bolt to function? Can the buffer retaining pin be left where it is?

Thanks.

Gentlemen, thank you for your comments.

Mike, I would be glad to give you a tour of the shop. Give me a call and we can set up a time.

Chipperman, I have receivers finished and would need to a barrel ordered for you. That takes about 6 weeks. I sent you a reply to your email.

Hksw, the buffer and spring must be removed but the retaining pin can stay.

Dave

Thanks for the info. The two easier parts to remove have to be removed and the hardest stays put (my DPMS receiver it would go on has its buffer tube in there tight). I'm in. Once I get some of the other stuff I have on order in and paid for, the Ferret will be next (if I don't stumble and go buy some goofy target rifle or three before then.)

Great looking rifle! How about sending me one and a pallet of ammo and I will do a little product evaluation:D

Seriously hope the Dems don't put you out of business. I don't see it as an advertisment. After all, I want one, but I can't afford it at all, so it has no effect on me, except to make me drool.

I recently picked up a .50 action from McMillan in Phoenix. I was really torn between the MCM and the Ferret. In many ways I wish I had gone with the Ferret first, but both are fantastic works of metalcraft. A gentleman down at Raton gave me a chance to fire his Ferret a while back, and WOW what a sweet rifle!

I think when the MCM is finished, I will give Dave a call and get my order in. The only thing better than having a nice .50 is having TWO!!!:what:
