I haven't posted here in quite awhile, but here is what has been consuming my time the last year or so...
Remington 700 SPS Tactical in .223
Current Mods:

AICS 2.0
Jewell Trigger
Elite 4200 6-24x50 (With Target Turrets)
GEN II Bolt Modification by R+D Precision
EGW 0 MOA Base

Rifle in stock form was producing .5 MOA at 100 yards with a Bushnell Elite 3200 10x40 and Hornady 60 Grain V-Max's with a mild dose of IMR 4895. The AICS was modified to accept the Jewell by Randy C at R+D Precision, he also did the bolt Modification a few months prior...

I was going to go with a Zeiss Conquest 6.5-20x50, but things got a little crazy with this thing, and I couldn't justify spending anymore money on it right now, so I went with the Elite 4200 6-24x50 instead. Still needs a few odds and ends, but I'm getting close!

I need rings, and I'm thinking that I'll go with Burris XTR Highs...

I'm usually not big on thumbhole stocks, but this one looks interesting. It folds, doesn't it? How's it feel. It doesn't look to have much in the palm swell department and the front of the grip looks kind of flat. Does it feel right?

Yes. The AICS 2.0 folds. The folding feature on the 2.0 adds weight though, and the stock is heavy. I'm still not sure how I feel about it yet, I haven't shot it yet.

Advantages are that you don't have to bed it, and it adds the detachable magazine feature. Everything is very nicely put together/machined on it also.

When I get around to taking it out, I'll let you know more...Still got to get a few things for it...

Any reason to go with high rings? The highs might be too high. Ask me how I know.

With the EGW base (picatinny) it is easy to mock up the height.

This may be apples and oranges, but I'm running a Leupold standard base with medium twist in rings and a 44mm scope bell and I have a good bit of room between the bell and barrel. You may be able to get away with medium rings too.

Well, one of my Smith's told me to go 'High', as there might be clearance issues with the Bolt mod and the scope. I have been hearing both sides of the ring issue. Rings puzzle me, so I might just go ahead and order Medium and High and just return the one that doesn't work...Scope is 50mm, so the majority (so far) is saying High Rings. I have plenty of comb adjustment in the AICS also.

Still need a bipod.

The AICS's are a bit different from conventional stocks. You can actually mount a scope to low with them creating a poor cheek weld just as you would with a scope mounted to high. The AICS 1.5 and 2.0 both have adjustable combs so even though you always want the scope mounted as close to the center axis of the bore you have some room to play with. With that said though I doubt "high" rings are needed on this.

Here is a Leupold Mark 4 with 50mm objective in mediums along with 20moa rail and have no problems.

Here is a build that's in progress,a 223 AI,2.0,Jewell,Rock, Badger. It will wear a US Optics 3.2x17 TPAL and I have Badger mediums on hand.

dubbleA, not to get off topic, but did that muzzle brake affect accuracy at all? I've been thinking about putting one on mine, but don't want to sacrifice accuracy.

Well, I went ahead and ordered rings through Midway...

I went the TPS rings instead of the Burris XTR's this time. I ordered both Mediums and Highs, I figure I'll just return the ones that I don't use.

I went with the TPS because they are a little less 'beefy' than the XTR's, and I figure I'll have more adjustment with eye relief that way...

Nice o builds dubblea!

In the first pic, are those Warne rings?

Yes they are.

dubbleA, not to get off topic, but did that muzzle brake affect accuracy at all? I've been thinking about putting one on mine, but don't want to sacrifice accuracy.

When done properly accuracy is not affected, but with any mods to the barrel it does affect harmonics and can alter/change POI. You may or may not have to tweak a load. This new 223AI will have it's muzzle threaded for brake/suppressor.

Well, I have a top notch guy near me. I'm not into the benchrest scene, but from what I understand, he is very well known nationally in the benchrest circles. I guess he knows bolt guns and he quoted me a really fair price on threading my barrel for a brake and supplying what he thinks is the best brake going and tuning the whole thing, whatever that means.
