FFL dealer?

I was looking for my closest FFL dealer and there is a guy in my little town that is an ffl dealer..I dont think he has a gun store or anything but i think he does some custom stock work ect..He mite have some guns im waiting for him to respond to my email...
Is this type of ffl dealer the same as the guy at the big gun store..Shipping guns to wise anyway? ..Im thinking of buying off of http://www.gunbroker.com and would like to use him if possible..thanks for any info

if he has a current ffl lisc,he can.he gets them at cost then will charge you a fee to order it for you.for example; 100 dollar gun may cost you 175 after all is said and on paper.ffl holders use their lisc to order guns through large distributers for people who want one.they order from ffl holder to ffl holder.whatever way is cheapest,mark it up(they gotta pay the bills too) and sell it to the buyer who fills out the forms,pays the taxes and gets the gun if everything checks out ok.they also may charge you shipping costs.he may cut you some slack on the total price.depends.you gotta ask him.

Will going through a big store cost me less..Or is it just up the him to charge what he wants.

FFL holders can charge what they want. I have purchased a few guns online and had them sent to a local FFL. He is a very nice guy who is willing to work around my schedule. He charges $20 per transfer. I paid shipping costs to the seller. A stocking store that I frequent was not enthusiastic to do a transfer and wanted to charge $60. Not much of a bargin. Ask your prospective transfer agents about prices. That is the only way to find out for sure.

I just found a guy out in Vernonia who will do it for $20

I was working with Don Norris Gunsmithing, but I am not happy with the service lately. Anyhow, let me know which guy it is.
