Hey all,

I'm looking for an FFL to ship a gun to, but can't find anything using the googlebox. I work in a bad part, so I don't exactly wander around too much, but an FFL is an FFL and I'd like somewhere near Gulfgate to pick it up during lunch. Let me know if you have an good FFL's you like. Thanks guys and gals.

Not quite. You'll find FFL's who refuse to do transfers, those who refuse to receive from nonlicensees, those who charge $50 per transfer and those who will "test fire" your gun before you get there to pick it up. Some will operate from a retail storefront, some from their home.

Good people, I've done business with them for years.

Thank you both! I will use Martin, but in the future, I will know where to go to get the info. Thanks again.

For indoor shooting, I have to recommend Marksman Indoor Range in South Houston. I haven't been able to find anyone who can beat their rates. You pay $8 per person for as long as you want to shoot, as many of your guns as you want to bring. None of this hourly charge nonsense. They are also an FFL so they should be able to take care of those needs for you. It's really close to you (so far as Houston distances go), the address is 507 Nebraska Street, South Houston, right off of Highway 3.

I belong to PSC Shooting Range in Friendswood so I usually shoot there, but whenever it's too bloody hot to shoot outdoors I head to Marksman.

Also, I buy most of my ammo at Carter's Country on Shaver in Pasadena. They're an FFL as well.

Called up Martini on the way home, very nice lady who said they haven't carried guns in 50 years or so! $20 a transfer, CHL or regular. I'll be doing my transfer there, but that Marksman looks like it may get some after work delight. Thanks for all the replies.

If you're into Houston history, Martini Hardware has seen plenty (they're currently third generation Martinis running the place). Check out their pix when you go (they used to be the post office for the area, decades past [back when the 7000 block of Lawndale was considered "way out of town"]).

I'd stay away from pawn shops.

As far as Marksman, I didn't mention them because I've not had the best service from them.
Pasadena Gun Center is a big ripoff (on transfers), but the only game in town if you want to shoot any firearm indoors (marksman only allows pistols).

Everyone should go to Pasadena Gun Center at least once so they can experience firing a rifle or magnum in confined spaces :)

They used to rent submachine guns, don't know if they still do, its been a long time since I've been there, but I remember it was expensive.

Ya need to go before big game hunting season, when the guy is in the last lane with his .458 Win Magnum (or similar). He usually has the range to himself

They still rent a variety of full automatic cash eaters (not just subguns).

Aside from the full auto rentals, they suck.

Hey everyone, just wanted to update. I bought it at Martini and it went smooth as silk. The lady was extremely nice and it was as painless as it can be. If I get one online in the future, I will be going there. She also mentioned someone had bought at least 30 through her, I was wondering if I'd seen them post here :D. Thanks again for the heads up to a great FFL.

$40 + you have to buy their ammo for it. Not that bad a price on ammo, $1-2 over Wally world on the stuff. Took the SO there earlier this summer so she could shoot their Uzi. She got the feel of one and now is in the process of coming up with a plan to purchase one of her own. But she could not wait to get out of there as soon as the shooting was done, and into fresh air. Been going there, off and on, for over 35 years now. You can shoot anything you can bring in the door! I've even test fired a 50BMG in there.

I might be considered a respiratory health hazard to go in there, but since I grew up under the smokestacks in that area, it smells like home, LOL.

Not my regular range, but it does serve a purpose.
