Ok, so I have bought several guns over the internet and understand the FFL process well on single gun purchases. I am now looking at buying several guns from an individual and need to of course transfer them through my FFL since it is out of state. Does the seller (an individual) need a copy of the FFL for each gun or will one copy suffice, or does the FFL need to track it that way? I would call my FFL but they are out for the week on vacation.

I have explained to the seller that my FFL will receive from an individual provided they provide ID, and that the handguns need to go through UPS or FEDEX overnight, and the long guns can go whatever. But I don't know about the FFL piece.

Thanks in advance.

But when your dealer transfers the handguns to you, he needs to fill out a multiple purchase form that is sent to the BATFE. This is no big deal, but if you are patient, and spread out the transfers, you can avoid that paperwork.

The 4473 has room for 3 firearms on it IIRC, so you can likely get away with one 4473 if you are willing to wait for them to arrive.

The 4473 also says additional sheets can be attached and it still be done as one transaction. For long guns, you can transfer as many as you like at one time, and for pistols, see above.

I have had eight long-guns transferred to me at one time via one 4473. Busy day at the gunshop, that.
