oh crap...

...I just realized I need directions Larry!
Yer' right it has been too long!
Hey maybe Billll could send up flares with the cannon/mortar...

PM on the way, Glenn.

Chris, we usually start about noon, but a couple of guys are going to show up early to visit and hunt some doves. (And they'll probably get roped into helping get the range ready ;) .)

yup...

...I'm headed down early...Dove appetizers I hope! You know I'll help with whatever...and what do you want us to bring?
...besidesammoofcourse... rauch06.gif

ha...

...I'm stakin' out the river...after that, straight to the salsa!
...ha...you think yer' place is messy!
I have a ...teenager... rauch06.gif

Brian aka tank mechanic,
Just brought over a buch of Military Type Targets for us to shoot...

Brian wont be able to come because he and his wife Meg just had a baby Boy this past Tuesday and he is also on CQ tomorrow.

Hmmm... I'm looking at this kind of late. Just pcs'd to Ft. Carson. Still time to get in on the festivities?

Congratulations are in order for Brian and Meg! Sorry he couldn't make it, but he has more important things going on.

Jobu07, not too late at all. We have enough green chili to feed an army (heh heh). If you can't hook up with Chris, PM me and I'll send directions.

Thanks, Dravur

Well, here it is. It's 4PM on Saturday, September 8, 2007, and I just now discovered this thread.

<sigh>

One thing I did get out of it, dravur, was your tag about people and slinkies.

It made me cry.

And gasp.

And nearly choke.

:D

Hope the day went well.

Well darn ... I was hopin' to make it down but work got in the way ... stupid work :(

Hope everyone had fun!

Lost and Found

Lost:
Jobu07 left an orange-colored bakelite AK-74 mag and it's not here. Anybody pick it up by mistake?

Found:
A Skil pouch with three 1911 mags in .45 ACP and a partial box of 12 ga shells. Who belongs to this?

We had a great time. Fairly small turnout, but some new names. Gaiudo, Watson0625, Jobu07, Chris Rhines. Hope you guys had a good time. Well, Chris was late, having shot the 3 gun match in Raton. And Gyp_c2, he's been here before, but that was way back in the 1911Forum days, nice to see Glenn again.

Billll had a new toy. I'll try to post a pic later.

Billll's newest toy in the foreground, and Lara Lee (Gaiudo's wife) kicking off the 2007 event firing the mortar (the mortar is in the background, behind the cannon).

A special thanks to Billll and Jim (BrassM) again for making our little get togethers something to remember. The cannon sent a soup can full of cement a little over 500 yards, and it was set a rather low angle for safety. Decimated a little bit of the neighbor's cornfield.

I'm thinking Billll needs to bring his toys to Whittington next spring.

 Found my 74 mag. It was at the bottom of my range bag... Thanks for posting that though. Had a great time! Lots of nice toys to play with.

Woops, those .45 mags in the Skil bag would be mine, Larry. Silly me, I just might have to drive down again some time soon. :D Actually, I wanted to hit that Walk-In field south of y'all, so that should be a good enough excuse.

Thanks, Larry, Sandy and all the THR gang that showed up. Made my month. I'll look forward to the next one.

Gaiudo

I really wish I could have made it down today but I had to work:banghead:

Ever since Larry showed me his photo album of previous get togethers I have wanted to make it down to his house for one. They look like too much fun.

Thanks for the congratulations for my newest family member, little Sean. In my excitement at being a new dad, I bought him his first rifle. A single shot, lever action 22 mag made by Agawam arms. I cannot wait until he turns five or so, so I can take him out an shoot it.

I will make it to the next get together, come hell or high water. I had fun shooting down at Larry's with Chris (CobraF100) last December. Larry and Sandy are by far the nicest people I have met since I have moved to Coloado.

Thanks for having this Larry. Had a great time!

THR folk are some of the most generous, nicest people I know...right up there with church folk. :D

well...

... Fifth Annual Colorado Get Together?
aka...
Green Chili and Guns Ago-go...
...or,
Oh My God He Brought A Freakin' Cannon...
...or,
Stealth Dove, Fact or Fiction?

Thanx to Larry and Sandy, best hosts ever!
Lots of grace-under-pressure shown and open arms for everyone...
Great crew turnout and lots of toys ta' play with...mucho ammo expended, and I think that last cannon shot hit somewhere in IOWA...
....Best day I've had in quite awhile, lots of characters and tall-tales to be heard and a fantastic display of shooting skills and camaraderie...

...in other words, we had a blast...

Indeed sir, they are fine people. And so is CobraF100. Miss you all, hope to see you again when next I am out that way.
