Got a couple questions on the application.

1. Part 7 on the green form. Is that only for corporations or do indiviuals need to fill it out as well?

2. Citizenship form. On Line #2 who is the person CERTIFYING citizenship?

Confusing isn't it, I just went thru the same thing, they need to fix both those forms! :banghead:

Item 7 seems to be one of those things where they use a universal question, they ask about business when the C&R is intended for individuals, dumb question, but the individual needs to fill it out also.

Citizenship form is also confusing, on line 2 I put my name on that line since I am the applicant and the person certifying, if that's wrong then I messed it up.

I had to call ATF on the whole verifying citizenship thing, they said you fill it out yourself. She chuckled and said it was redundant, but that is the way it is done.

I am also assuming CLEO is the COP of the city you live in and not the Sheriff of the county.

cleo is cheif law enforcement officer.... round here that would be the sheriff of the county... if you live in a city then i would send it to the COP.... but i don't think it would matter either way...

Round here, CLEO is County sheriff.

Send it out to the largest Law Enforcement Agency in your area, if in doubt. Calling them won't do you any good. They're all bigger than the other in their minds. Frankly, CLEO has no real say in the matter, unless you're, well ....

you know.

Inside city limits would be the local Chief of Police. Outside the city limits would likely be the County Sheriff unless like Alaska there are no such things as counties or sheriffs. In which case our CLEOs are State Trooper Detatchment commanders or post commanders depending on location.

Here, CLEO is the county sherrif, but when I went in they had no clue what I was talking about, I was bounced areound from the CCW desk, to the dispatch, to the clerk, back to the CCW desk, finally the gal at the CCW desk a copy and put it in my CCW file and had me write the name of the sherrif on the form.

Yes, you can add whomever you want to the form, I added my wife just to make things simpler if somthing were to happen to me, but every one you ask needs to be able to pass a check and I imagine the more you add, the longer it will take.

Also, after you send it in, be sure to call and make sure they are moving it along. It took a pretty long while for my C&R to arrive, I had to call, and she said it was sitting right there and would be completed next or whatever, then I had the license within a week.

Yep, mine took almost two full months.

I've heard others say they had their's in a matter of a few weeks.

I think the fact I filed my paperwork around a Christmas holiday may have had something to do with it with people out-of-pocket on vacation, etc.
