Hello

I'm Michael, from Warsaw/Poland. I love reading Your forum :D

I have no acces to weapons in my country :banghead: , but I'm very interested in guns ;)

Have you got any films showing recoil of various weapons, for example .357 Magnum revolver, 9mm pistol, 10mm pistol etc. Maybe pictures, showing, how much muzzle flip is? I'd like to know differences in time of recovery after shot. I have found recoil calculators, but I don't know differences in real shooting. I'm not talking about felt recoil, but about real time of next shots or high of muzzle flip.

Excuse me my mistakes.

Best wishes,

Michael

i got the impression from polish films that there is licensing but you can have a weapon, even a pistol.

That's EXTREMELY difficult to get licence in my country. Even police officers have problem to get license on off-duty gun. Some people can: politicians, commonly known persons [VIP], judges from time to time etc. Not typical citizen. And consequences of using legal weapon on self-defence are also terrible.

Thank you very, very much :) Great links! .357 Magnum doesn't seem so bad. I thought, that there will be much more recoil. 45 ACP seemed punishing and 44 Magnum, of course.

How many time is needed to recover from:
- full house 357 Magnum [for example - Doubletapammo] in L-frame revolver 4"

- from 9mm+p in Glock 19?

- from all stainless 1911 45ACP 230 grans not +p
Are there big diferences?

Of course approximately :)

Maybe somebody knows?

I've shot a full sized 357 magnum (Colt Trooper), and it does take a little longer to recover between shots, but not much, especially once you are used to it. I shoot both 9mm and 45acp out of subcompact guns (Kahr PM9 and Glock 36) and find both to be quick to recover from. I really believe the recoil from the 45acp is overrated; it feels like little more than the 9mm.

Holy Crap!!! What was in that thing?

It supposed to be a Contender (or similar handgun) chambered in .600 Nitro Express. The quality is too poor to tell if it really is chambered for the big Nitro cartridge, but whatever it is, it is big.

Maybe it's just me, but the guy shooting the Glock 18 in the first link seems to be just pulling the trigger with no paticular target in mind. His first shot is aimed level, but all following shots are in the air. You can see his point of aim when he stops shooting and he returns it to where he was trying to hit. Not sure what the video portraits, but I hope it's not how to successfully hit your target during rapid fire. :scrutiny:

If you ever plan on visiting southern california let me know. I enjoy taking people shooting, werever they may hail from.

There's the legendary Accurate Reloading videos showing a variety of individuals try to master the recoil of some of their unholy creations.

It looks like too many people were downloading them so now you have to join their forums. Still it's worth it. THe little Arab guys getting knocked on the ground were hilarious, and the big German who takes the blow, calmly sets the rifle down and commences a string of German profanities while hopping around clutching his shoulder is very amusing.
