I stopped into the local Fins the other day to see if they had a bottle of Lee's Alox bullet lube. They did. Last time I was there, the powder shelves were bare. I'm not in need of any powders or primers. But the curiosity of what was coming back got me. In the past, they only carried Alliant and Hodgdon Powders. But with Hodgdon's recent acquisition of Western Powders, I was pleasantly surprised to see No. 9 on the shelf. Now if they can get AA1680.

I have wanted to try #9, but never seen any locally. So right at $33 a bottle, I bought one. So, for anyone with a Fin Feather Fur near you. Western Powders may start showing up on the shelves. :)

It is encouraging that we are getting reports of things showing up on the shelves at times. Maybe we have turned the corner on this mess unless there is some sabre ratteling from DC in the future. Not much showimg up locally and am not going to drive 60 miles to check and see as of yet.

I’ve tried Western Powders AA#5 and Enforcer, both were easy to work with and made good loads for me .

Glad you could find some to try out, its been quite a while since I’ve seen any locally. :(

Stay safe.

I think so, but I haven’t used #9 so I can’t give you a straight up comparison. On burn charts Enforcer is a bit faster than #9 and next to Alliant 2400.

I’ve used it in upper-end loads in .357, .41 and .44 Mags.

Stay safe.

Hard to beat fin, feather, fur. Haven't been to the Berea shop in awhile. Mainly hit the Boardman store.

I will be working down in y-town this week and will have to stop in. It would be interesting to pick up some AA#5 & enforcer and do head to head testing with 38spl P+ loads, 357, 44mags, 9mm's.

Hope you find those. I can't recall exactly what I saw on the shelves. But I'm sure that I didn't see the taller Alliant powders.
