May the blessings of a most kind and loving Creator ease the passing of your friend and in so doing ease the sense of loss and helplessness that attends this
troubled time. Peace
My prayers are with and your friend, and all those who are affected. I hope she is pain free.
If you are not getting enough support in that area, contact a Hospice in your area. They were a great comfort to me when my mother died of cancer. They will not let someone experience pain they don't want to have. The drugs take their toll on a person to be sure but I firmly believe Opium (Morphine) is God's gift to dying people.
Sorry to hear such sad news, Preacherman. Chief Seattle once said: "There is no death, only a change of worlds." Debra will be waiting to greet you on the other side. Prayers on the way for all of you.
Preacherman I have prayed for your friend that If God does not see fit to heal her that he have mercy on her and make her comfortable before He welcomes her into His Glory
