I've had my C&R FFL for two years now and I haven't really been able to buy any quality items due to financial reasons. Well now my wife's got a good job and we were able to sell some land we had gotten years ago. Any suggestions regarding vendors and or rifles and pistols will be appreciated. I like military type weapons from the late 1800's and on into the 20th century. Thanks for any and all recommendations:D

You have a ton of choices in milsurp rifles right now. Where to start?

Mauser 98K there are plenty of the RC (Russian Capture) mausers available with or without the Nazi markings. The parts will be force-matched by the Russians, which some people feel makes them uncollectable, but I'd be fine with it. Shoots 8mm, and if you get surplus it's dirt cheap and corrosive. These obviously have war history.

Yugo SKS Unissued and re-arsenaled copies available for cheap right now and a good quality semiauto that shoots a cheap round (7.62x39). I love mine.

Mosin Nagant Any and every style of Russian Mosin Nagant from 91/30 onward (excluding the snipers) are available everywhere right now and this also shoots a pretty inexpensive round (7.62x54R). Many of these have war history as well.

Enfields, Springfields, and Garands can still be found, too if you like those. If you want milsurps with reputations for being good shooters, I like both my Finnish M39 Mosin Nagant and my Swedish M38 Mauser. The Swiss K-31 is also reportedly a very accurate rifle but I haven't shot one.

As far as vendors go, there are many with good reputations, spotty reputations, and worse. The best thing to do is figure out what you want, then post a question asking "where is a good place to order a (name of rifle) from? Where should I not order from?"
