Well I finally bit the bullet and bought the SIG that I’ve been wanting for what seems like forever. It’s the P229 and came with both the 40S&W and .357SIG barrels. It cost me $819 which was the best I could find anywhere near here and I don’t think it was too bad since it came with the extra SIG factory barrel, which I was going to get anyway. The trigger is great and I can’t wait to wring her out.

So does anyone have any suggestions of a nice iwb holster and what night sights do you recommend, I’m leaning towards Trijicons.

Just left the range today after qualifying for my CCW!I chose to take my well used Sig-229, it has been nothing short of excellent for me!It shoots everything I feed through it and is a very accuarate shooter!!!You will enjoy it sig's are top of the line handguns!!! :)

I have one Sig a P245.I've fired it a couple times and has work flawlessly. My main reason for replying is about the Night Sights. I have the Trijicon on my Glock M27.They are probably 9 years old and still fairly bright.I wouldn't hesitate getting the Trijicon's again. When I got them they were around 75.00 installed, including shipping back from Glock.I'm sure they would be allot more now.

Ruger Redhawk

Well after spending a little more time with her it's true love. I've definately been bitten. The Trijicon's will be put on latter this week and now i have to decide Which SIG is next...P226, P220, P245. Choices ,choices, choices. I'll end up getting all of them eventually and will probably get them in whichever order I find a good deal on.I finally understand what all of the ruckus was about.

Congrats on your new Sig, I spent that much (NIB) without the second barrel so you didn't do too bad, I did at least get N/S and 12rnd mags. I think either the 220 or 245 will be my next purchase.

Enjoy...

The 229 in .357 is SWEEEEEET!! Expensive, and worth every red cent!

I'll never go back after this...

until SIG makes something better, that is....

Outstanding purchase. I have 4 SIGS and love them all. SIG is my favorite and most accurate .40 cal pistol. Your P229 will serve you well.

Lou Alessi holsters

Alessi makes great holsters.

I have three Sigs and love them all.

Trijicons

I have Trijicons on two of my Sigs (since '94). They are not bad. There is another brand that I believe SIGARMS uses now that I've heard good things about.

Congrats on the new Sig. I love my 229. It also came with the 40 and 357 bbls. Since then I went out and bought a BarSto 9mm bbl for it as well. Nothing like having a 3 caliber handgun. Plus the 40/357 mags reliably feed the 9mm without issue.

My next Sig purchase will be a 220.

Thanks for the tip, I'll put the BarSto barrel on the list.

Holster -- if you like leather, Milt Sparks VMII. If you like kydex, Comptac CTAC. I use both, so I know that these work well, although I am sure there are a few dozen more out there that will work as well.

As far as the sights, I have come to like the Meprolights more than the Trijicons, they seem brighter at night and easier to see during the day. I just had a set put on my 229 and really like them.
